A short message from Bali :)

Is there a place you have always wanted to go to? Is there something you have always wanted to do?

With the end of the year upon us and the traditional time to reflect, acknowledge and plan ahead, I wanted to share with you 3 goals I had set and how all three came true in one go, and how, if you have something similar you have set for yourself, how it can become reality for you too.

I have always wanted to go to Bali. I didn’t know why back then, it just seemed very exotic and adventurous, in my late teens, living in the suburban home counties of England. Much later, as a teacher, I wanted to teach abroad. Then, I wanted to  volunteer overseas and work with kids, teach or do some sort of community spirited work.

If you want something and align yourself to the fact and plan it, goals become real. It is actually really simple. We like to complicate things, often set impossible deadlines and have unrealistic expectations, especially around money, then either those goals get pushed back further into ‘some day’ or we forget about them. I guess that’s what happened to me around those three goals. So what I’m saying is, don’t worry- if it’s happened to you too, you are normal! These things happen to us all! Until, opportunity presents itself and you manifest the reality.

I am here in Ubud, Bali, for a coupe of weeks, volunteering with kids, teaching a bit of maths, a bit of English. Loving it and enjoying the healthy raw, organic and locally sourced foods and massages! Even though it’s the rainy season, there is an appreciation for ‘life goes on’ and how we often make the weather as an excuse to not do things.

    • Thank you Cheryl! It was great to just be for a while and take it all in, in real time – then reflect and share 🙂
