Less than 100 days left til 2014!

I did a workshop a while ago on 23rd Sept (my husband’s birthday!) as there were exactly 100 days left until the end of the year. Many people see this quarter as a time of change, getting things harvested, completed and wrapped up, before the new year.

Of course, the new year is just another day, but there is something about numbers and deadlines which motivates us and spurs us to take action.

In my September post, I blogged about setting myself a self- imposed and self-defined ‘do something Outrageous everyday’.

Here is what I did, not all outrageous, per se, but just a few things I had never done before:

shaved my husband’s head

did 16 coaching calls- mostly in my PJs

went up in a hot air balloon

declared my blog and website online

had a record month in online sales

almost went to Fiji

signed up for golf lessons

had two colds/coughs come to visit

invited to co-train at a resort in Bali

declared I would run at least 2 workshops in Australia in 2013

A morning walk of 10k

Had 9 successful women agree to be interviewed by me on being a female entrepreneur

Did a rainforest walk and vistited Tambourine Mountain 3x

Went to Surfer’s Paradise, Gold Coast and did no work that weekend, enjoyed the beach instead

bought kamboucha

picked and ate fresh mulberries

took part in a Thriller flash mob dance rehearsal

Met an inspirational Cambodian lady, Somaly Man- look her up..incredible story

Ate cauliflower mash

Saw some great results after switching my skin care and detoxing my skin for 30 days – hubby said I look younger!

This isn’t about being inspirational or breaking any records (and, ok, a lot of it isn’t, in the grand scheme of things) this is just about setting an intention, stepping up, being fresh and honest, setting your own and completing a challenge, and being held accountable. It’s also an interesting exercise to see where you are putting most of your energy, and if it’s inline with your values and goals. If you wait for perfection, or the perfect moment, you will be waiting a long, long time.

Quit putting your life on hold, waiting for perfection! Now is perfect and Now is the time!

I have learned:

a) nothing bad happened- I survived, yay!!

b) documenting and journaling makes it more likely to happen, especially if you have told someone

c) you never know what good may come out of it, just by trying 🙂

So, do you have any goals or challenges, big or small, it doesn’t matter, this isn’t a competition and there’s no judgment, which you want to achieve before the year is out? I’m going to set some business goals, with targets and numbers, set the intention. I also am going to set some me-time and fun goals. What about you?

I’d Love to know, so please share in the comment boxes below.

Until next time,
To your goodness, and your gorgeousness

  1. This is super timely for me. I’ve begun journaling more, and I’m definitely seeing the difference. Reading your list & suggestions inspire me to get way more specific. Thank you.

    • Hi Helene! Journaling is so great. Every night I sit and write 3 things I am happy about/completed/achieved for the day and I do a bigger review at the end of the month too, seeing which of my monthly goals have been met. Going open last month with no specific goals, just an intention to consciously do things to stretch, acknowledge new experiences and grab oppportunities was a very freeing experience! Thanks for your comment and keep going!

  2. Wow! What a journey you’ve been on! I want to be outrageous too!

    • Hi Eizabeth!
Do it! Ok, I didn’t shave my own head (I’m not stupid!) so there is a real sense of pride and playfulness when you stamp on the little voice and do the crazy new thing anyway! It was fun, and who knows what October will bring! Thanks for your comment x

  3. Wow! What a super inspiring and FUN list!! I 100% agree that dreams and ideas remain in our heads unless we put them to paper. I give them a deadline and some actionable steps to kick them into gear. As I’ve just launched my website, my goals for the rest of this year (and well into next year) all seem to be centred around my biz – so no hot air ballon trips for me 😉 But you’ve inspired me to create some smaller NON BIZ goals. Getting out my journal now…..

    • Hi Kelly! Thanks for your energetic reply! Great you have your biz goals defined, definitely look at some non-biz ones too!! Look forward to hearing how you get on!
